KOTRA holds 2024 Indonesia Medical Roadshow
KOTRA and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy hosted the 2024 Indonesia Medical Roadshow in Jakarta, Indonesia on September 11 for two days. The roadshow ran Korea-Indonesia pharmaceutical symposium, medicual equipment industry trend and regulation, export consulting and on-site tour. The symposium invited around 200 industry and government officials related to bio and pharmaceuticals. Participants discussed ways to collaborate between the two countries to address the expanding demand for medicines due to Indonesia's growing population and rapidly aging population, which is increasing the prevalence of intractable diseases. At the export counseling session, 14 of Korea's leading pharmaceutical companies and 19 medical device companies with advanced technologies participated to explore business opportunities. The Indonesian side included Southeast Asia's largest pharmaceutical group and a company that supplies medical software to more than 60 hospitals. The healthcare market in Indonesia, a country of 280 million people, is experiencing strong growth due to rising national income. In particular, the medical device and pharmaceutical markets are expected to grow at an average annual rate of 4.6% and 6.37%, respectively, from last year to the next five years.
KOTRA and Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy appoint Public Relations Ambassador for the 2024 Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo in Tokyo
On September 12, KOTRA and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy appointed Hallyu star Lee Sung-kyung as an ambassador for the 2024 Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo in Tokyo. The Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo is KOTRA’s flagship export marketing event that utilizes Korean culture to promote Korean consumer goods and services. It is a platform for small and medium-sized enterprises to raise awareness of their brands overseas. The expo will be held from October 11th to 13th in Tokyo, Japan. 150 domestic companies will participate and hold export consultations with 350 Japanese buyers. The event will be held in conjunction with the “SBS Inkigayo Live in Tokyo” in which a total of 14 singers from both countries will participate, and product promotions will be held for 40,000 Japanese audiences and B2C visitors for two days from the 12th to the 13th. Rookie K-pop group NOMAD, who was selected as Expo Asia Rookie, will also hold a fan meeting on the mini stage. The expo’s ambassador, actor Lee Sung-kyung said “I am honored to be appointed as an ambassador for this event, which will be held in Japan for the first time in 12 years to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan next year. I will do my best to promote Korean culture and industry in Japan, strive for friendly exchanges between the two countries, and work hard to showcase the appeal of Korean products.”
