교육부가 2016년 4월 집계한 한국인 유학생은 총 22만 3908명인데, 이 중 6만 6672명의 중국 유학생은 6만 3710명인 미국을 추월하며 1위에 올라섰다. 한중 FTA와 무역의 연관성은 중국 상해에서 매년 개최되는 세계무역박람회 규모에서도 체감할 수 있다. 세계가 하나로 되는 현시대에서 필요한 진정한 유학의 메카인 중국의  상해사범대학부속 제2외국어학교는 2000년 로컬중국학교를 시작으로 미국국제부, 한국국제부가 설립되고 이어서 영국국제부까지 설립되어 상해최고의 글로벌 리더로 키우는 학교로 우뚝 부상하고 있다. 
한국국제부 심명채 이사장은 한국에서 20여년간 교사로 재직하였으며 성남시 청소년 지도위원이자 숭실대 대학원에서 사회복지학 석사과정에서 청소년복지를 전공했으며 현재 백석대학교 사회복지학과 박사과정중이다. 심 이사장의 다음세대를 키우고자 하는 교육자적인 노력과 열정은 계속되고 있다. 한국 도시형 대안학교의 대표적인 이우학교의 설립 공동체 활동에 참여해 10년 이상 대안교육 현장을 지켜보았으며, 캐나다 학교의 유학생디렉터로 활동하여 해외유학의 충분한 노하우를 습득한 경험을 가지고 있다. 100% 대학진학률로 유명한 상해사범대학부속 제2외국어학교   한국국제부에서 언어와 진학 위주로만 짜인 커리큘럼대신 첫 학기부터 각 학생의 탁월함을 발견하고 키워주는 특별한  멘토링제도를 매뉴얼화 하였다. 또한 인성함양과 개개인의 개성을 중시하는 교육 콘텐츠를 강화하고 있다. 이를 위해 CSL과정을 통해 중국어와 문화체득, 실력을 키우는 절대평가(삭제) 커리큘럼을 함께 제공한다. 한편 입학하기 전 학생 심층면접을 시작으로 부모님면접, 과목별 테스트를 한다. 현재의 학업성적도 중요한 선발자격이 되지만 학업에 대한 태도와 유학의 동기와 꿈을  중요시 한다.

자녀를 글로벌 리더로 키우기 원하는 부모들을 위해 초등학교 1학년부터 대입입시를 위한 고등학교 3학년 까지 영국국제부 미국국제부 및 중국로컬부의 차별화된 커리큘럼을 선택 또는 조합하여 학생의 진로에 맞게 로드맵을 선택할 수 있다. 학생의 목표에 따라 영미권 대학 진학과 중국 명문대 진학으로 구분되어지며  미래의 꿈을 이루기 위한 선택의 폭을 넓인 최고의 학교이다. 모든 기본 커리큘럼과 생활 관리 등 모든  한국국제부에서 담당한다고 한다. 그리고 입학과 동시에 MBTI 성격유형검사를 거쳐 낯선 환경에 적응하도록 돕고, 매일 한국식 ‘밥상머리교육’에서 착안한 ‘패밀리 런치미팅’ 시간에는 패밀리로 구성 된 선생님과 학생들이 식사를 하며 친밀감을 갖는다.  중국 유학 첫 학기에는 학생 자신이 잘하는 것과 좋아하는 것을 개발하고 개인의 정체성을 발견하도록 도와주는 꿈프로젝트에 참여하게 된다. 또한 다양한 동아리 활동을 통해 중국 친구들과 사귀면서 언어와 문화적 다양성을 동시에 익힐 수 있다. 상해는 국제도시로서의 이중 언어가 가능하도록 외국인들을 많이 접할 수 있는 경제무역도시이며 외국인이 선정한 매력적인 1위 도시로서 북미와 유럽유학으로 겪는 개인주의 성향과 문화 가치관 충돌 대신 유학의 장점부터 체험하기에 효과적이라고 전한다. 상해사범대학부속 제2외국어학교에서는 정직 명예 탁월함을 키워드로 다른 학교와 차별화 된 특별하고 다양한 커리큘럼을 갖추고 있다. 더욱이 중국대학 입시에서 외국인 특례 전형으로 중국 상위권  대학에 100% 진학률을 보이고 있다. 교육 환경면에서는 9만권의 장서를 갖춘 초현대식 도서관과 수영, 육상, 농구, 축구, 테니스, 포켓볼, 탁구 등 다양한 스포츠를 할 수 있는 초대형 체육관과 운동장 및 휴게실  갖춰져 있다. 특히 보딩스쿨의 삶의 질을 좌우하는 기숙사 시설은 중국 전 학교 중 최상의 시설을 자랑으로 하고 있다.

Fruitful study in China that presents a roadmap for life in college entrance strategy and personally adjusted education 
A curriculum to rear a future humanistic global leader by enlivening all the merits of alternative education and study overseas

Study overseas is a constant option to students and their parents who must be subjected to the yearly published list of entrance requirements for a college even in alternative education and specialized school to improve the stereotyped public education. President Shim Myung-chae of the Foreign Language School Affiliated to Shanghai Normal University is rearing global talents for the 21st century by presenting alternative education from his experience in teaching and counseling youths to students who want to start off overseas. By the influence of his grandfather, an independence activist representing Wonju who served as principal and his father, an educator, president Shim has been a leader in open education. His self-directed study and character education offered in Shanghai, which is China’s biggest trading hub and an international city near Korea, shows a clear difference from the existing method of education.

Among the total of 223,908 Korean students overseas counted up by the Ministry of Education in April 2016, 66,672 students in China at last overtook 63,710 in the US,moving into the first place. Connectivity of Korea-China FTA to trade can be also seen in the size of the World Trade Fair held annually in Shanghai, China, and the Second Language School attached to Shanghai College of Education where you could experience global exchange and China’s studious atmosphere started in 2000 as a local Chinese school, followed by international departments for the US, Korea and then the UK, rising up to a top-class school in Shanghai for rearing global leaders. Shim Myung-chae, president of the Foreign Language School Affiliated to Shanghai Normal University, had served as middle and high school teacher in Korea for 20 years and as a youth guidance committee for Seongnam city. He is an educator who mastered in youth welfare at Soongsil University graduate school of social welfare and currently is taking a PhD in social welfare at Baekseok University. He watched the scene of alternative education for over 10 years by participating in the communal activity of establishing Iwoo School and also learned the knowhow of study overseas as director for Korean students attending a school in Canada. President Shim works as a mentor on the self-reliance of students from the very first semester instead of the curriculum made up of only languages and going on to the next stage of education in the Korean International department of the Foreign Language School Affiliated to Shanghai Normal University which is famous for 100% enrollment rate. He is also strengthening educational contents that values highly of personality and humanity. To that end, president Shim, while offering the curriculum to improve Chinese, culture acquisition and competence through the course of CSL, is said to go through in-depth interview with students, parents and test by subject before their entrance of school. Student’s school record is an important element for qualification but Shim takes passion in study and motivation and dream of studying overseas as important as school record.  
Mentoring through ‘family lunch meeting’ and ‘dream project’ to foster global leaders 
For the sake of parents who want to build their children into a global leader, students from first year of elementary school to third year of high school can choose and mix differentiated curriculum of UK International Department, US International Department and Chinese Local Department as the road map to universities in the UK and the US or top universities in China. All curriculum and management are taken care at Korean International Department. Besides, at the same time as the students enter the school, president Shim helps them adapt to unfamiliar environment through MBTI personality type test and students are made to eat meals daily in ‘a family lunch meeting’ designed from the Korean-fashioned ‘education at table to increase their familiarity. Students are encouraged to participate in ‘dream project’ which develops their aptitude, talent and identity in the first semester alongside learning the diversity of language and culture. Shanghai is an international city of economy and trade where you can keep many foreigners in touch in order to become bilinguals and that as the No.1 attraction city selected by foreign people, Shanghai is effective in experiencing the merits of studying overseas instead of individualistic propensity and culture shock from one’s values suffered from studies in North America or Europe. The Second School of Korean Languages emphasizes on honesty, honor and excellence and the China’s special admission for foreign students has made 100% students of the school move on to top universities in China. The super-modern library holds 90,000 books, gyms and playgrounds are designed for diverse sports such as swimming, track and field, basketball, soccer, tennis, pocket ball, table tennis, etc. The dormitory in particular boasts the best facilities in China. Also, the school is running Namsan Golf School International department in collaboration with JD PARTNERS, an educational corporation, to foster talented golfers. 

Will deliver benefits to third-world students while rearing students able to exercise global influence and talent   
The department is directing energies toward building the students’ leadership in helping others with creative education in autonomous atmosphere. Actually, looking at the students who are taking pictures of the school with much interest and editing them like a short film with capability of web design with one unit of notebook computer, president Shim found it hard to embrace their values with the CSAT system. Therefore, Shim thinks that studying abroad can provide an opportunity for students to grow global leaders. He is making the Korean International department into an alternative education system macroscopically equipped with personal specialized education and strategy for college entrance exam so that the students may enter a graduate school in English speaking countries after graduating from a university in China and have diverse experiences by meeting teachers and friends capable of sympathy. Besides, as the talents from around the world have gathered to make the US what it is today, he expects the Korean International department to become a site for turning out talents who will increase Korea’s national competitiveness in the future. Shanghai Pudong International Airport is said to fly 20 flights per minute from 5 terminals by 2020. In the open atmosphere of Shanghai, a global trading city, Shim sincerely hopes that more Korean students at the Korean International department of the Foreign Language School Affiliated to Shanghai Normal University can make their dream come true. He will also make more efforts so that students from the third world equally can achieve their goals and dreams.
