Africa-EDCF Symposium
The Ministry of Strategy and Finance held the Africa-EDCF Symposium in Seoul in November. The event, attended by government officials from 21 countries, aimed to strengthen economic cooperation between Korea and major African countries through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund. At the event, the Tanzania Salinder Bridge support case and green, health, and digital cooperation were explained, and the K-Finance package for promoting large-scale development projects with Africa was introduced. As the Korea-Africa Summit agreed to expand the ODA scale to USD 10 billion by 2030, African countries also participated in the discussions with great interest in mutual economic cooperation. The ministry emphasized that close cooperation has continued, including the approval of a total of 111 Economic Development Cooperation Fund projects in Africa, and that it will build partnerships, devise innovative support measures, and ensure sustainable debt management in the future. The ministry proposed to strengthen mutual economic cooperation in various ways, including the K-Finance package, while solidifying the foundation of cooperation for Korean companies and talents to help Africa develop and grow.

Choi visits Rebellions
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok visited Rebellions (Bundang, Gyeonggi Province), a domestic AI-semiconductor startup, on November 27 to communicate with the industry and inspect the domestic AI-semiconductor design and development site. He examined the performance of domestic NPUs that showed high energy efficiency compared to GPUs and directly confirmed the potential of domestic AI semiconductors in the early stages of the market. He emphasized that AI-semiconductor innovation can create a new leap in AI and be integrated with our main export products such as mobile phones, automobiles, and home appliances to enhance industrial and national competitiveness. He said that he will actively foster the domestic AI computing ecosystem by building a national AI computing center that utilizes domestic AI and semiconductors and developing K-cloud technology to leap to become an AI G3 country.
