The Science and Technology Office (STO) of the Swiss Embassy in Seoul organizes the webinar “Shades of Green”, the opening of the Swiss-Korean Innovation Week 2021. In this SciTech Concert appointment, STO Seoul aims to discuss some of the aspects of the “Green Transition”, by disclosing also critical voices. In a multidisciplinary approach, experts from Switzerland and South Korea will discuss the unprecedented path that the “Green Transition” has taken as well as its opportunities and limitations.

IMPACT MAKERS game for social entrepreneurship

IMPACT MAKERS, a program of the Korean Innovation Week 2021 organized by the Science and Technology Office, focuses on “Green Transition” and targets students based in Korea and Switzerland with an interest in Social Entrepreneurship. Join a simulation game of running a successful social enterprise and compete with other teams! Winning teams will be chosen across several game categories and will benefit special visits and mentoring in Switzerland and Korea. Form a group of 3 people and the representative should sign the team up. (First come first serve)
UN Trilateral Independent Dialogue on Food Systems “Shift towards healthy and sustainable consumption patterns”

As integral part of the Swiss-Korean Innovation Week 2021, the Science and Technology Office organizes the trilateral dialogue in the framework of the UN Food Systems Summit 2021 and focuses on the shift towards sustainable consumption. Education and innovation are the keys to building a resource circulating society. This independent dialogue aims to inspire solutions oriented to grow awareness, modify consumers’ behavior and propose new practices for a transition to a more sustainable production and consumption. Dots between Brazil, South Korea and Switzerland will be connected by sharing current initiatives and discussing how they could vehicle the transformation in different cultural and social contexts.
Swiss-Korean Science Club

The Swiss-Korean Science Club, hosted by Science and Technology Office in June, introduces a joint project between the École cantonale d'art de Lausanne (ECAL) in Switzerland and Nam June Paik Art Center in Korea. The speakers, Professor Patrick Keller and Dr. Sang Ae Park, will introduce the background, procedures and some results of their project, highlighting the “Art x Science dialogue”.

THE SOUND MAKER exhibition with Swiss artist Zimoun

The exhibition The Sound Maker of Jaeger LeCoultre will take place at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), from 16 June to 4 July 2021. The exhibition presents the creative and cultural world of Jaeger LeCoultre. The highlight of the exhibition is the Sound Sculpture, which was specially created by the Swiss contemporary artist Zimoun. This sculpture represents connectivity between time and art. Visits are on a reservation basis.
