(PowerKorea) Yeongju apple has received wellbeing certificate from the Korea Management Certification for 15 years in a row. Located in 200 meters above sea level, the city is surrounded by mountains and has rich soil that is ideal to grow apple and ginseng. Yeongju apple in particular is famous for rich fiber and low calorie and it is known to help ease symptoms of high blood pressure and fatigue. Apple is made into a variety of food from jam and juice to liquor, vinegar and jelly. Thanks to fresh air, clean water and rich soil in the region, Yeongju apple is second to none when it comes to taste and flavor. 3,234 houses are growing apple and the yearly output is 84,587 tons. The city gives 14.5% of the whole apple output in the nation. 403 tons of Yeongju apple was exported harvesting $1 million in 2017. Yeongju Apple Festival is held yearly in an effort to promote local economy.
Yeongju releases tsugaru apple
Yeongju started releasing tsugaru apple. The city opened collection places of loads on July 15, 21, 23 and 29 in orderly manner in Samyoungcheong, NongHyup Poongki branch and local agricultural markets including one in Daegu. Mayor Wookhyeon Jang said “I hope apple farmers will get paid full price of the apple they grew and harvested for they worked hard day and night. The city will keep its fame of apple through strict picking up and management systems.”
