(PowerKorea) Nestled in Yeongju City, famous for apple, is an organic apple farm Haedo. Haedo is famous for not using agricultural pesticides and chemical fertilizers but only organic substances as its name suggests and it makes and sells organic apple juice. Jaein Yoon, CEO Farmer of Haedo, studied years to develop chemical free apple juice which he named ‘Tobaki’. It is safe and healthy to eat and the NFC method also keeps original substances of apple as they are without being destroyed during the processing. 

“I always make myself aware that my family drinks apple juice I make first before it reaches to consumers in the market. Therefore, I pay utmost attention to detail that no chemical substances must be inside. For the same reason, I use NFC method that does not use heat but extracts the apple as it is” says Yoon.

It is not easy to grow apple organically and to make it into juice eco-friendly. Weeds grow three times faster and higher than when using chemical substances so it is physically demanding. As a result, Yoon has to start the day early and finish the day late as it requires more labors.

“Yeongju is famous for apple. Many farm houses in the city are growing apple. So the competition is fierce. Not using chemical substances and making and selling organic apple juice is my surviving strategy. The fierce competition, in a way, contributes to growing better quality apple and better byproducts as well as regional economy. My Tobaki apple juice, in particular, obtained HACCP and is sold in a pouch for easy consumption especially for children.”

Business side apart, Yoon is actively engaged in social activities to help people in need while running various apple farm activity programs for children.
