KE Solution (former Hongjin) attracted attention with its LFP battery at the 12th Conex Korea held at KINTEX, Ilsan, last month. The event was organized by the Ministry of Trade Industry & Energy and sponsored by the Korea Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association. KE Solution built the first lithium iron phosphate battery laser welding packing line in Korea, and has been praised for its technology that provides everything from battery packing to finished products with BMS. The company has established a partnership with SK Inc. C&C, which has extensive experience in automotive batteries and energy storage (UPS, ESS), to provide a more reliable BMS.
KE Solutions’ innovative technology opens the future of secondary batteries
The company’s LFP battery was the center of attention at the booth. The safe design of the automotive-level battery pack by applying lithium iron phosphate batteries with low fire hazard and no explosion attracted the attention of the industry circles. The BMS system for fault diagnosis and precise battery health prediction was also praised. Not only do secondary batteries maintain the same output and capacity over long periods of use in harsh environments, but their higher energy efficiency compared to lead-acid batteries makes KE Solutions’ systems more appealing.
“We will convert domestic and overseas lead-acid forklifts to lithium battery electric forklifts with our industry-leading battery pack technology. We are able to optimize the battery pack design based on the waterproof/dustproof (IP65) design with lithium iron phosphate cells that have less risk of explosion and fire, and the design of mechanisms and electronic components to ensure stability.” says the company.
Safer BMS system
The company manufactures lithium iron phosphate batteries, produces and sells chargers, and provides more stable BMS systems in collaboration with SK Inc. C&C. The company’s BMS system provides precise voltage, temperature, and current measurements for reliable SOC and SOH predictions. Battery cell and pack health and BMS self-diagnostics (anomaly detection) ensure battery reliability. It also features data storage and real-time data logging and SW updates to trace the cause of failures. This technology originates from the intelligent IOT Gateway. It acquires all raw data related to battery status and operation from the BMS in real time, enabling AI-based long-term battery life prediction. It sends GPS and battery status to the server, and it is designed for industrial EV mounting and water and dust resistance (IP65).
The best better pack technology for next generation charging
The company’s technology has gained traction with companies interested in global low carbon policies, RE100, and ESG. This is especially true for the company’s patent-pending next-generation charging technology. Existing lead-acid batteries inefficiently use only one charger with a common charging/discharging cable, or existing lithium batteries have separate charging/discharging cables, which requires time and cost to replace. However, the company’s technology can dramatically reduce the replacement time (only the forklift connect needs to be replaced) by using one common charge/discharge cable. KE Solution’s strong partnership with SK is expected to further strengthen its presence in the industrial and ESS lithium iron phosphate battery and charger markets.
