Sales of mass-processed foods are on the rise. The rise in the number of single-person households and the rising prices of fresh products has led people to want convenience foods rather than cooking their own meals. As a result, the demand for mass-produced meal kits and retro products has skyrocketed, and K-simple meals have become popular overseas also. Grinding food is an integral part of mass production. However, there have been criticisms about poor grinding and the amount of iron powder produced during the grinding process. One company has developed a food grinder that allows you to feed raw ingredients and grind them to the desired size without worrying about grit.

Hwain multi-stage food grinder for raw, no pre-processing

Hwain develops consumer-friendly production equipment and produces specialized products. The process of grinding food by hand is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and inconsistent in quality. “So a lot of food factories are using this or that grinder, but they’re not happy with it. They’re just using it because they don’t have an alternative” says Hwain CEO Youngchul Suh. Smaller items, such as garlic, will still come out of a conventional crusher, but onion-sized items will not grind well. Many of the existing products are very limited by the size of the material that goes into them. This required additional processes to ensure a certain size, which led to increased labor costs and delays in process times. Hwain’s multi-stage food grinder compensates for this, allowing you to feed food in its raw form rather than chopping it into smaller pieces.

Onions and leeks, as well as radishes and cabbage, which are a bit larger, can be added as they are, as long as they’re cleaned first. It doesn’t only work with large ingredients, but also with smaller ones, such as garlic, ginger, and shrimp. The fed material is automatically crushed at high speed to the preset size, especially when applied to a large-scale crushing line of a pyrotechnic machine, which can process 3 tons per hour, which is a great help in the production process.

Preventing insertion of foreign substances during the grinding process and complementing the internal disinfection and cleaning process

The innovation behind Hwain’s multi-stage food grinder is that it prevents iron dust from wear and tear from mixing into the food. The result is not only food safety, but also another step in the manufacturing process that can be reduced, dramatically streamlining the production manufacturing process. In addition to the automated internal cleaning, the shredder can also be easily disinfected by adding sanitizing water, making it easier to operate and significantly reducing the number of people needed to operate the shredder. This can be used in kimchi factories, fish pickle factories, dumpling factories, sundae factories, and anywhere else that grinds ingredients. “We will always look at what consumers want and develop production equipment that is really needed to produce specialized products” says CEO Suh.
