Sancheong, located in the northwestern part of Gyeongsangnam-do, is famous for its beautiful natural scenery thanks to the tall mountains such as Jirisan, Hwangmaesan, and Ungseokbong.

Sancheong 9 Scenic Views and home of Donguibogam

Sancheong-gun introduces nine particularly beautiful places as the Sancheong Nine Scenic Views. The first is Jirisan Cheonwangbong Peak, where you can enjoy beautiful scenery and sunrise in all four seasons. The second is Daewonsa Valley, located at the entrance of Jirisan hiking trails. At Daewonsa, you can hear the sound of clear stream water, the wind blowing through the lush Geumgang pine trees, and the singing of mountain birds in all four seasons. The third is Hwangmaesan Rhododendron. The fourth is Jeon Guhyeongwangneung, the fifth is Gyeonghogang Scenic View, the sixth is Namsa Yedamchon, the seventh is Nammyeongjosik Historic Site, the eighth is Jeongchuiam, and the ninth is Donguibogamchon.

Since the successful hosting of the World Traditional Medicine & Anti-aging EXPO in 2013/2023, Sancheong-gun has seen a steady increase in the number of overseas tourists visiting the area. In particular, Donguibogam Village was designated as a tourist destination by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2001. In addition to this, Sancheong has a wealth of things to see and experience based on the nature of Jirisan and the energy of Baekdudaegan, making it a popular healing and family travel destination.
