From construction trade to Japanese restaurant operator
The two generation family restaurant Daebun Ilsik is second to none when it comes to Japanese cuisine. Located right off Masan Harbor in Changwon City, the restaurant has delighted gourmets, or raw fish and sushi lovers to be more precise, home and nationwide for the last 20 years. The 661 square meter restaurant not only treats single or couple dinners with utmost care but also gatherings with various purposes from birthday party to the formal bows between the families of a bride and a bridegroom. In terms of the menu, it has almost everything a right raw fish restaurant should have: live fish, sushi, lobster, fish fries and grills, tataki, okonomiyaki and roe rice with your choice of tuna, abalone, rockfish, eel, king crab, sea bream and many more. CEO Kim worked for a construction company for 10 years and he was in constant need of a nice place to talk about the business; and Japanese restaurants often came into his eye. This led him raise his interest in the cuisine over the level of curiosity during which he had already understood what dinners really wanted from the chefs and the services not to mention his expensive taste.
A good operator whom you can chat with over the meal
It is generally known that dinners at authentic Japanese restaurants tend to expect a light chat over the meal. So Kim becomes their companion to talk with, listens to their story, or recommends right menus and drinks and a room if they have an occasion for gathering. Sound a little formal? You do not worry at all if you are a big family or group dinner with children since a number of rooms are designed just right to serve dinners like you. You can choose menus from 35,000 won over 100,000 won depending on your need and preference. For those who love meat better than seafood among the group dinners, Daebun Ilsik also serves a number of meat dishes. All ingredients used at Daebun Ilsik are strictly chosen and all cooking processes are systematized. Yet Kim opens flexibility whenever a dinner or more require something different other than the set menus.
Years of volunteer activities
Kim is a man of good heart. He has been donating rice for people in need, serving free meals and delivering briquettes when winter comes. “I think it’s my duty to help people in need since I received many until I’ve achieved this success” said Kim. If you are a seafood lover or have an occasion to visit Changwon City, you are highly recommended to try these highly praised menus at Daebun Ilsik.
