Yoon attends Ocean Day ceremony

President Yoon attended the Ocean Day ceremony held at the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal on May 31. He said that the rapid ocean environment is a challenge to ocean and marine industries and we must use it as an opportunity for a leap forward. He suggested a road map that contains 1) building supply chain and turning to digital logistic system 2) deregulation 3) creating young enterpriser-friendly business environment 4) bold investment in ocean science and technology 5) building smart prediction and alarming system. He especially emphasized on importance of using big data, AI and automated control systems that are must needed for the 4th Industrial Revolution. He also pointed out importance of private investment, logistics capacity, overseas base, eco-friendly farming and better income, housing and work environment. On the day, Yoon rewarded the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit to 40 ocean and marine industry contributors. 

 

Yoon visits Daegu

President Yoon paid a visit to Daegu to attend the 28th World Gas Conference Daegu held at EXCO on May 24 under the theme ‘A Sustainable Future - Powered by Gas’. Two children opened the event with fireflies on the welcoming video clips accompanied by phytoncide spreading every corner of the event hall to freshen the air. Yoon said it is not much to say that the sustainable growth and future depend on energy policies and South Korea, as a global leader, will do its duty and role to bring Carbon Neutrality. For this, he emphasized on the balanced development of nuclear power, renewable energy and natural gas while inviting investment and diversifying import routes. Daegu Mayor Youngjin Kwon said that like the city has made contributions to development of water industry alongside creating the Daegu Water Industry Cluster, Daegu will play a hub of promoting gas industry and business in the nation on occasion of this World Gas Conference. <PowerKorea>
