Artist Seo Yu-jeong has paved her unique art world of Qi, the energy painting, delivering health and happiness to people. Many collectors are known to show interest in her painting especially overseas. To meet the demand, she has held a number of overseas exhibitions recently including Czech, Romania and the US.

Spreading energy of love, peace and happiness over borders

A reason people find her painting interesting is that they feel positive energy when seeing her works. This is because she also performs Qi dance herself alongside her Qi painting. Her works embrace abstraction and western-feel co-existent unleashing strong energy. “Exhibiting my works overseas gives me an opportunity for communication with various people. Though we use different languages, we can exchange our feelings through art” said Seo.

Connection between universe, nature and humans starts from a dot

Qi painting is normally drawn with a ball pen or fine marker pen. They are expressed in lights, unlimitedness, whirwind and spawning. Instead of pre-designed concept of forms, she draws time to time based on her Qi-feeling at the moment. The works contains energy of sky, love, peace and energy of happiness that help people feel easy and sound. “I become comfortable when I draw Qi painting. So I hope people would feel the same as me. Qi painting is like holy painting in Christianity or mandala in Buddhism. The wave of sky is the wave of Qi painting. The reason I paint black hole is that everything even lights goes into it to reborn as white hole meaning a new beginning from an end. In other words, all are connected with a dot from end to beginning” explained Seo.

She added “I feel grateful that people recognize my Qi painting and waht I mean to deliver through it. I also thankful for those who work with me in line. I will push myself further to spread a good value of my Qi painting.”
