Hyunjin Steel is famous for its SUS304-baed airtight container ‘Ustem’ for home use. Around 40 kinds of stainless airtight containers of Hyunjin Steel do not contain any substances that release environmental hormone. The silicon packing keeps the air tight and the copper mixed-stainless has antibacterial function. The containers are also hot food-friendly and can store more amount of food than plastic containers. The handle is conveniently attached to move it around easy and the transparent lid lets users to see what is inside. This innovative ‘Ustem’ made a series of hit at Shinsegae Home Shopping and 2.5 million units were sold last year alone. Ustem is to be found at Homeplus nationwide from March this year as a result.

Winning 2019 Korea Brilliant People & Brand Awards

Hyunjin Steel was selected for Frontier Startup, IBK Family, Tech Innovation SME and Venture Enterprise. The company has ‘non-welding TANK ASS’Y’ technique which is innovative as its seaming, curling and compression method solved the existing corrosion issue occurs when welding. The technique has received great response from overseas buyers and the company joined the KOTRA Business Delegation in 2018 as a result. In recognition of its contribution to the fields, Hyunjin Steel received the 2019 Korea Brilliant People & Brand Awards in the category of technology innovation. CEO Hong Jong-kuk said “We are proud of our achievements and will keep doing our very best by working together as we always did.”

The 2019 Korea Brilliant People & Brand Awards is held by Herald Group which runs the Herald Business and the Korea Herald, and managed by monthly <Power Korea>. The awards find and reward competitive and promising companies and individuals who have shown high potentials to grow. The winners went through strict screening on documentations and also interviews when necessary. 

Some of the notable winners included Yongsan District Seoul, Gwangjin District Seoul and Jung District Incheon in the category of self-government and GS Retail, Dongwon F&B, Lotte World, Starbucks Korea, Korean Folk Village and Hotseasoner in various categories.
